Hi,
I have a Jenn-Air JCD2389DES side-by-side.  Lately, I've noticed some ice building up on the top of the top-most shelf on the freezer compartment door.  (Almost like there is a leak in the seal at the top of the door - there isn't by the way) A few days ago, we noticed that although the freezer was cold and working that the refrigerator side was at room temperature. In case it was a defrost problem I emptied the whole thing, unplugged it and cleaned the dust off as much of the bottom and compressor area as possible.  After a day  I reconnected it to the power and left it. The freezer seems to be working but the fridge side isn't getting as cold as I would expect and today, the second day since it was reconnected to power the ice is appearing on top of the top freezer shelf again.

I've read through this thread and ordered a new ADC board through fixitnow.com as the things seem to be the cause of most of the problems. SHould I replace anything else while I'm at it??

Is there anything else I could check for??

By the way we're selling our house so I really need this problem fixed ASAP.  Any help appreciated.

I wanted to post this at the end of the original topice but it has been closed.

Jim

You could ohm out the defrost t'stat and heaters, if you haven't already. They fail less frequently than the ADC board in this refrigerator but if you want to cover all the bases, there ya go.

Also make sure the evaporator (freezer) fan is running.

OK.  Where are they and how do I get at them??  What values am I looking for?  There is a fan blowing somewhere in the freezer.

Unplug, pull everything out of the freezer, remove back inside pabel to expose evap coil. You'll see the heaters. Follow wires to the t'stat-- little round button up top of coil. Looking for continuity through all.
