I have had the washer for a little while and it has worked great. This morning I loaded the washer, put the lid down and pressed the start button - a code appeared "op". My manual states this means the door is open. Don't know what to do now - the door is closed. HELP

Magnetic read switch on left side below the gray rubber bumper. Release two spring clips in front between main top and front panel using putty knife. Lift the main top and access the left and right door locks here. To access and see if the magnet is in place, remove the dispenser from lid. Gently pry the bottom of the plastic inner lid toward you then down. This will let you see if the magnet is in place on the right front corner of the innrer lid.

Thanks - I opened the top and found the left latch switch. I gently pryed the switch open and found that one wire to the reed switch had come loose??? A little solder and everything is like new again.....back to washing..

Seems to be a common problem with this washer. Apparently, the lid isn't completely watertight and allows water to get into this switch corroding the contacts and the wires. See the attached picture of my water-damaged switch. Note the black wire disconnected. Attachment: washer_switch.JPG (Downloaded 65 times)

I noticed you helped someone out with the Neptune Top Loader Washer and a lid latch. I dont quite understand how to open the top and check the latch. Could you give me a little more detail? I am a single mom trying to fix this on my on if possible. Thanks

Yo Kat! I believe you need to stick a putty knife in the crack between the top and front panel. There is a spring snap on both side 3-4 inches in from either outside edge. Press in and lift up on one side at a time. There is a lid lock on right and left side under the top. Hope this helps
