Hello, I had an unfortunate incident with a rug that crumbled to bits in the washer, thus clogging it completely, so now I am disassembling my GE WCXR1070T5WW in hopes of clearing the crud out of the bottom of the tub assembly. I am unable to get the agitator pulled up and out of the spin basket. The service directions say "Remove agitator by grasping bottom and sharply pulling up" and I have done so in every way I can think of for about 2 weeks now. The agitator is not moving. The directions (they are the originals from inside the front panel) have had one minor error already, where my washer has 2 screws to remove in the front, and the directions didn't list these screws, so I am wondering if this is the case again. Any suggestions are much appreciated! Attachment: agitator.jpg (Downloaded 103 times)

It's not moving. I can't believe this is so hard to pull up. I guess this agitator is somehow corroded in place. Is that even possible? Phooey. Thanks so much for the help, anyway!
