Soap dispenser fails to open for second wash cycle. I assume likely culprit is broken spring. Door and latch appear fine. Have no idea how to access it to replace. Don't even know the basics about opening up the dishwasher. Any guidance would be appreciated.

Door is taken apart by the removal of the torx screws that surround the perimeter of the inside door panel. After the door is separated, you will see the orange wax motor that opens the soap cup. It is powered by the board. You have neutral sitting there at all times the door is closed and the board supplies L1 to it. On your schematic will be a test mode you can put the unit in to so you can do a voltage check to determine if the board is doing its job. The usual resistance of those wax motors is approximately 1500-2000 ohms. If it is reads open, it is bad. If it ohms good, it can still be bad and putting it into the auto test mode and checking the voltage will confirm.

Trying....thanks very much for the feedback. At least I know which screws I need to attack first. Do I need a special tool to remove the torx screws or can what's needed be found at Home Depot, Lowes. etc? The voltage testing is beyond me. The wax motor is only about $20; the spring $.56. I thought I'd just go ahead and replace and hope for the best. Does the wax motor merely plug/screw in? Is it easy to take out and put a new one in?
