My Maytag Neptune MAH4000AWW has bad odor, and I noticed mold/mildew on the door boot seal. I recently purchased a door boot seal replacement part from Maytag, and I noticed that it has a drain hole at the bottom (my existing one doesn't have drain hole). This is my first attempt in trying to work on a washing machine. Could you please give me advice, tips, instructions on how to replace this door boot seal? Also, since the existing one doesn't have a drain hole, will I need additional parts? I would really appreciate it if you could help. Last edited on Fri May 5th, 2006 04:11 pm by chadc |

Can you give us a part number for what you got? I'd like to see exactly what part this is so we can advise you further.

Hello there fellow Neptune suffer! Did the new boot solve the problem? We had ours replaced under warranty several years ago. The smell went away for a while but is back now with a vengance. We are perplexed!
