I'm new to this, hope this is the right place to post question. Home came with this dumb dishwasher which we rarely use, but we recently had guests and tried it. I'm pretty sure I need to reset the overfill protection device b/c after water level got too high the inlet valve will no longer allow water to come in. I'm reluctant to just call for service like the manual suggests b/c we live in small town far from service. Other entries from you sound like if I cannot try reset by myself, I should just get a new unit, less fluffy brand. Dishwasher sounds like it still turns on but no water in no matter what cycle I try. Turn on/off at breaker did not reset. No obstructions, no hose kinks. ASKO model # 001355 Serial # 00091240

If the D/W flooded, did you empty it manually or did yu get it to drain? if not, there may still be too much water in. If it flooded big time, and leaked all over the floor, maybe it tripped the flood protection on the inlet hose (that lump near the tap end). Some of these POS's must be manually reset, and some of the auto-reset ones just stick. Either way, more or less, they suck, but you should install one if the kitchen has no floor drain. However, if the machine flooded, you should check why. Could be a number of things, like bad or jammed float switch (must move freely), timer wheel or inlet valve... try to advance the timer to draining, and see if that works. Then you could check the float for free motion, and try again. The problem may have been intermittent, due to a long un-usage period, and may go away after some fiddling. Mineral residue from hard water can temporarily or completely jam the flood protection, inlet valve, float switch etc, even more likely so if the machine is unused for long periods and the residue has time to dry up and harden. That model number gives no results at RepairClinic. Are you sure it is correct and complete, all letters and numbers included?
