My washer vibrates excessively when spinning with a full load of clothes.
My question(s) is/are:
1.How can I tell if this is caused by a weak floor (the laundry room is on the 2nd floor and I do notice vibration through the floor when standing next to the washer in spin cycle)? As far as I can tell, all four legs are firmly on the ground, although the washer sits in a drain pan. I've heard that adding a piece of 3/4 plywood(screwed into the floor joists) would help eliminate the vibrations.  Is this correct?
2. I did notice an oily substance leaking from both shocks on the unit. Would replacing these help?
3. This may be an obvious piece of info, but I'll add it just in case. The washer doesn't seem to vibrate much at all when I run the spin cycle with nothing in the washer.

Thanks for any help you guys can provide.

Rock the washer on the diagonals to see if the footings are bearing weight evenly. Details:
