OK, kdog wrote the following

"......now you have confirmed that the clutch is indeed spinning with the start-stop action, next question is:  does the motor run continuously,or is it starting and stopping as well?"

THE ANSWER is Clutch is Spinning with Start-Stop action

AND  the Motor runs Continusly.....

Now what?

if the drive motor is driving continuously and coupling is not damaged and the clutch disc is not turning, you'll need to replace the transmission  part #3390629 as the spin drive collar in the tranny has failed- if you plan to carry through with this repair,it's probably a good idea to replace the coupler #285753  and the clutch disc #285785 at the same time.

willie their is a chance you may need part number 388253 neutral pack before you buy this kit you will need to inspect the inside of this transmission, take the cover off the tranny and remove the main gear and look for a  worn plastic dog, be carefull not to disturb the rack gear, its a timing problem lol! you may replace only the four small parts in the kit but do not attempt to replace the plate Is this a serious job? not in my opinion ,its harder to pull the tranny than replace the neutral pack.

which of these pics is part?

Makes sense that a 4year old gently used washer should have *&+*& plastic parts in it so I can get a short life out of it>>>must be made in China LOL

ANYWAY I was able to buy back my previous Kenmore Washer that NEVER failed in 10 years! for $ 100.00 and I plan to just Part out the Sorry Whirlpool Washer....NE 1 need a motor, or anyother parts? .....just let me know.....Very reasonable.....

Will,

PS THanks to ALL who tried to help!!
