Hello, I'm from Victoria in Oz and I have a F&P GW608 washing machine that's just started to take forever to fill. It has almost nothing running into the bowl when cold water is selected and eventually goes out on alarm with the warm and cold lights flashing. I removed the hoses and checked them and there's no gunk in the filters on the hoses. I checked the solenoid valves with a multimeter whilst varying the temperature settings and they seem consistent. Nothing appears to be going into the water chamber the valves are attached to. I changed the wiring from the hot to the cold valve and vice versa, and it fills. The cold water valve is sticking I presume. Can someone tell me if these valves can be purchased seperately, if they are able to be pulled apart and 'cleaned', and how to remove them so I can do either of the options I have to do. Thankyou very much in advance.

Unlike conventional water inlet valves with the metal, pressed in screens, Fisher Paykel water inlet valves are made with plastic screen that are designed to be removed, cleaned, and securely re-inserted. This is the only washer water inlet valve that I have seen designed this way-- the valves with the metal screens I don't even bother cleaning because of the risk of pushing sediment into the valve and damaging it, creating a flood potential. Undo the water hoses at the valves in back of the washer and remove the plastic screens to clean them. When you re-install them, make sure they're snugged all the way down.

Thanks mate. I pulled the valve out (which was quite easy). Bought a new one and its working a treat! Au$49 for the cold water inlet valve. Ciao
