Daniel Lurking at the Threshold   Joined:  Location:    Posts:  Flavorite Brew:  Status:  Offline	My dishwasher just started making a sound when it runs that is a cross between a light saber and a loud electric motor hum.  it seems to be running okay, but i dont want to let it keep going if it is going to damage something.  the sound comes and goes with the wash cycle phases but seems to accompany the spraying water times. Any Ideas? Thank you.

Daniel Lurking at the Threshold   Joined:  Location:    Posts:  Flavorite Brew:  Status:  Offline	I have snuck up on it several times during the noisy cycle, and when i open the door soapy water is dripping from everywhere, so it is pumping water. it seems to run just fine.  the noise moves in and out, like a light saber.

Hey -- my dishwasher (Whirlpool Imperial Series DUL330xTLQ1) is making the same strange noise. When I open the door mid-cycle there is water dripping from everywhere, but nothing is coming clean. It makes the same 'in and out' whirring noise (it really sounds cool) but doesn't seem to clean anything, although it coats everything evenly with wet, dripping food -- which is quite not what I want. If perchance it is the wash motor as you suggest that is the culprit, is that a major repair, would you suppose? Help us, Samurai. You're our only hope.

Hey, My DP94OPWKQ1 seems to be doing the same thing. I wasn't home when the racket started, but my wife said that there was a loud "THWACK" and then a whirring grinding noise. When I set it to "RINSE" the noise continues and water sprays from the arms. I haven't been able to run it on "DRAIN" long enough to see if the water pumps out (the baby is getting the nap that I wish I was having). Is this the bad motor of which you speak, Samurai? Many thanks.
