Did you replace your clock assembly, or your touch pad? The Touch Pad is the part you actually touch to initiate a program.

Hi, I joined the forum because this is the only page that came up in the whole World Wide Web when I googled our Kenmore double oven [model number 911.4..85890 = white on white color scheme. 911.41189890 = black on black version of the same.] Our oven was installed seven years ago when we built the house and it has the identical problem. It started after approximately four years of light/normal residential use. We get random beeps for several minutes after it is powered up and within ten minutes it will start beeping steadily and display "FO" on the upper oven side of the touchpad. Oddly, the oven works just fine otherwise, you can turn it on and bake/broil to your hearts content. It will often hold up for hours afterwards without a beep, but it always starts again. Being a reasonably handy guy [and the cheapest prick in the world] I replaced the clock/oven control myself, "retrofitted" might be more accurate with the latest Sanyo version of the oven control and latch motor. I read the instructions and caught the changes in how one of the relays is wired. It held up for two or three months before starting up again. I have not replaced either temperature sensor assembly, they seem like a basic mechanical device that not much can go wrong with [it either works or it doesn't] but I am here to discover the error of my ways. Usually the F0 is not the clock or what is known as the ERC. It is usually the Touchpad or Membrane. The part you actually touch to initiate a command. If you know the fault will appear at least once a day, unplug the Touchpad from the clock and see if the fault returns. Some units you can not do this on because they are looking for a closed circuit on one of the traces to make sure the ribbon is plugged in, and some will turn on the cooling fan. I am pretty sure yours is not one of these. If the fault does not come back with the Touchpad eliminated from the circuit, it is your problem.

Thanks for the suggestion Trying to help. I should have tried that before replacing the ERC the first time. Now that you bring it to my attention, the Technical Data Sheet that comes with the oven, suggests first determining if the problem is with the keypad or control by pushing Clear/Off and disconnecting the ribbon cable to see if the code recurs. I disconnected it while the power was off and then turned the power back on--unfortunately, the beeping started up within a minute. I have had to replace three cable modems over the years [a couple of routers and motherboards too] due to lightning ground strikes in the area. I have slowly built up my defenses with UPS's, cold water grounds, etc. but I wonder if anything with a powered circuit board [like my oven] is vulnerable.
