Pry off the cheesy gold trim around the top panel and you'll see Philips screws on the front edge-- they're holding the front panel on. Remove 'em and the front panels drops down and out.

You are correct, the model number for the whole unit is inside the dryer door, here is a page that will take you to the breakdown of the whole unit so you can see how it all comes apart...

In the back you will find two brackets, one on each side, holding the top in place. Remove the two brackets and the top will slide forward and left off after removing the lid switch wire connector. Now you can access the two screws holding the front panel on, one on each side from inside. What you're most likely going to find is the main part ref#19 has broken out around one of the support springs. The only two ways to fix it is replace the complete tub support assembly ref#19 or if you know someone handy with welding you might be able to weld the broken out piece back in place with some extra support. Part# 63740 Tub support Assemb. CLICK HERE to see and/or order.
