I have a GE Profile Quiet Power III dishwasher. It's probably 3-5 yrs old. After a cycle one day, it started emitting a loud beeping sound, when the door was locked shut. I tried reseting it, but it would eventually go back to beeping. I unlocked the door, tried reseting it, but nothing. Now, it sits unlocked and the LED under the "normal" setting just blinks 24/7. Any ideas? I don't have a manual and can't find one for this model. I feel the machine needs to be reset or something. Nothing is jammed in the door or inside the washer. What gives? Any help would be appreciated.   Thanks!!!

I have the same problem... the GE website gave some suggestions as follows... The lights and sounds common to most electronic models are: A beeping sound indicating the dishwasher door was unlatched during the cycle. To correct this condition, close dishwasher door to resume cycle and the beep will turn off. This beep will be heard approximately once every 30 seconds. Blinking "Start/Reset" light. This indicates that the dishwasher has been reset and is in the process of turning off. This light will continue to blink for a time period between 75 to 90 seconds depending on the model. Other blinking lights or beeping sounds may indicate a problem with the dishwasher caused by power surges. To correct the problem, try pressing the "Start/Reset" pad to reset the dishwasher. If the problem persists, reset (reboot) the control by turning off the circuit breaker supplying the dishwasher for 30 seconds. Turn the circuit breaker back on and the dishwasher should function normally. I'll try some stuff and let you know what works.

I just shut the door, flipped the latch (to lock it shut), and then held down the start/reset button until it turned on. It is running as I type this reply... we'll see if it actually gets done with the load.

I've tried all of the above and nothing works. I've reset the dishwasher by pressing the start button. It blinks for about 30 seconds as if it is going to reset and then the normal wash light comes back on and the dreaded beeping starts. It was washing fine and then it started this. I've turned the power off at the breaker for 30 - 45 seconds and it does the same thing. This has happened before and it started working on its own (after pushing a lot of the buttons). But this time, nothing works.  This model does not have a LED but I even tried that F1 test (don't laugh at me!). I've tried everything. There is no water in the bottom, so it is not a drain problem. The arm is not stuck. I don't know what else to do. Model number GSD4800G00CC - GE dishwasher (3 years old). HELP!!!

Hi.  I am having the same problem.  I have a GE dishwasher from around 1988 Model GSD4020Z02BB   and it's a GE Profile  Quiet Power II .  When it's plugged in, the Start/Reset button blinks.  Then it switches to Normal (that part lights up) but nothing happens!  The dishwasher doesn't start, no water, nothing.  I read the post and sent my husband to try turning off the circuit breaker in the basement.  Off all days for this to happen.  The dishwasher's full and tomorrow I'll have lots of dishes to wash with it being a holiday.  Will let you know if this fixes my problem.

Moe4981 Lurking at the Threshold   Joined:  Location:    Posts:  Flavorite Brew:  Status:  Offline	Hi all.  We tried that fix, shutting off the circuit breaker to no avail.  Nothing changed and the dishwasher blinks Start/Reset then blinks on Normal and that's all it'll do.  Any suggestions before we buy a new dishwasher?  Thank you all in advance.    Moe4981

ee Lurking at the Threshold   Joined:  Location:    Posts:  Flavorite Brew:  Status:  Offline	Check to see if the soap container is stuck in the closed position.  If it is, you'll need to do the reset operation as well as get the soap lid open.  Throw away the solid lump of soap and pour in the fresh dry detergent, turn the machine back on.
