I've got a service call on a side by side GE ref. to go on and I normally only service Whirlpool appliances (a self-servicing dealer). Anyway, the complaint is that the water dispenser is leaking water. I was looking for some advice as to how to access the ice/water dispenser. I'm only familiar with sticking the putty knife behind the Whirlpool fronts and releasing the tabs for those to come off. Are GE's similar? Sorry, I do not have a model #. I do know that the refrigerator is approximately 4-5 years old. Thanks for any info. Last edited on Fri Oct 14th, 2005 04:40 am by Tarheel Technician |

I'm drawing a blank but maybe Jedi or one of the GE guys will chime in.

Again not sure without the model number to get the breakdown, but seems like most of them pry up from the bottom about like the Whirlpools.

About 4 to 5 years ago Ge fridges changed radically. To know if its a TFX or a GSS would help. Let the Force guide your putty knife on either model and you'll be OK.
