I have encountered this F7 appearing to the left of the time display. I have turned the power off to the unit at the breaker box for eight hours but I returned from a trip to encounter the oven now plugged back in, beeping with this error msg. Previously the message would appear without beeping and the oven otherwise worked wonderfully. I do have a whole house surge protector to minimize the electrical surges that we experience in rural Mississippi.

What, if anything, needs replaced/repaired? Oven is 4.5 years old. Also I don't know if this is applicable but the oven is wired to the same breaker as the air conditioning unit, another refrigerator, and 900 sq. ft. of the upstairs of our home.

Model JT910W0A3WW..... This is not for your model number but pertains to G.E. ranges, the tech sheet included in your range somewhere will tell you what this means for your model #.

F0 - F1 - F7
Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on.
Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

Also your range needs to be on its own 40-50 amp breakers and your central need to be on their own 40-50 amp breakers. the frig should be on a seperate 20 amp breaker. The 900 sq. feet of the upstairs I cannot even image this is on there also.... :shock:

I've got this problem, too. The number to my oven is:JT910S0A3SSI have found the screws on the bottom of the control panel (5 of them total: 2 phillips and 3 hex screws), but can't seem to remove the control panel--does it need a bit of muscle? I'm too chicken to pull on it too much. Would love to check the contacts first. Will happily order parts from you guys if needed. Want to fix the problem before Thanksgiving, since I'm having a house full of people and don't think they want microwaved Turkey or Spaghetti for dinner!

The GE Oven F7 error is caused by poor contact on the flex circuit that connects the keypad.

To fix it, turn off the power and pull the oven out a couple of inches for access.
Remove the 3 hex head screws under the control panel and lift the panel off.
Find the connector where the flex circuit connects to the main oven control. Snap it open and remove the flex circuit.
Clean the flex circuit contacts with electrical contact cleaner and a pencil eraser.
Put it all back together and the F7 should go away.

Unfortunately, this is not a permanent fix, and it will probably recur in another 6-12 months.
I've done this about 6 or 8 times to my oven, and it still keeps coming back.

Pegi, I am baffled. My model number with a space between the "J" and the "T" appears as typed on the inside of the oven's lower left door jamb. No "tech sheet" has been found with the oven manual. Is the ribbon cable the blue 1.5 inch tape one the back of the control panel?

Tech sheet would not be with the manual, would be hidden in the range somewhere, console area one place to start looking...as this is a GE product they do not provide, at this time, any help with accessing these anywhere either other than ordering them from GE per model and serial numbers.

Just to keep everyone informed: 1.800.GEC.ARES is very helpful. Choose option five followed by four to get to a live body. GE recognized my model number and a 20-amp breaker will be installed in my breaker box.

I did not say yours was not a good model number, did not try to pull it up, I just posted error codes for GE ranges, the error codes for you range would be on the tech sheet in your range, GE does not provide tech sheets on-line like some others so would not do any good to try to find this for you.

I have had some luck cleaning the ribbon connecter from the touch pad to the controle board with a pencil eraser. If this does not correct the proplem leave the ribbon unplugged and see if the code returns if it does not replace the touch panel if it does replace the controle.

Banjaw, with GE ranges GE suggest both be replaced as replacing one will result in the other still giving a code......however if you had bought them thru this site...any part can be returned for any reason, even electrical parts...less shipping charges....this might help you in the future??

a word to the wise do some research before attempting electronic repairs , although control boards will give you a failure code it is very important to determine exactly what failed and why , this way you won`t spend your nonexistant money for unnessary repair parts that cannot be returned , sometimes you will need to call the pro`s this way if they make a misdiagnosis they eat it , some f codes are generated by the microcomputer at random (it`s the checksum) this is a self diagnostic tool installed by the board builder , however in the case`s of G.E. you can get the wrong board in the right box , or you can get a different replacement part with no usable instructions as to how to install it G.E. has very poor quality control , some replacement control boards come from china and others come from twiland

a good example would be the common oven control board pn#wb27t10267 and 68 that i just opened it has the instructions but not the additional hardware to install it some boards require jumpers .
