Reliability, performance, what's good, what's bad, recalls etc., and would you buy one yourself......

If not, what would you recommend for a good washer and dryer set (topload only).

Okay, just saw some BAD reviews, is it true? Guess for the price I will possibly consider a front loader in my request for recommendations.
