I have a GE Electric Convenction built-in oven model #JTP18COD1CC The display beeps for several minutes and then displays "F7" & all functions become locked/disabled. I followed the troubleshooting tips & disconnected all power and then reconnected with the same problem. Any suggestions? THANKS in advance

Thanks for the advice, but I imagine it is one or the other, how do I know if I should replace the ERC or the touchpad?

Thanks for your help, a couple more questions before I try this. As I am somewhat handy, so I hope I can do this myself without calling out repair service. 1. Is there a way to cut the power to the range besides the circuit breaker? 2. What will the ribbon connector look like that needs to be disconnected? 3. I assume to get to the ERC, I just start unscrewing parts from the touchpad? Thanks again Last edited on Thu Apr 21st, 2005 05:44 pm by taylor97 |

If it could beep and display "F7", the ERC is not likely to be bad. So bad touchpad and/or poor connection could be the cause. Follow Samurai's "my proprietary component isolation technique" if you like! Last edited on Thu Apr 21st, 2005 05:53 pm by The Seven ____________________ The Seven |

1. On a wall oven, no. 2. It's the only thing connecting the touchpanel to the ERC. 3. Couple of screws on the bottom of the panel. Piece of pie. Cut power first.

Well, I disconnected the ribbon connector, and no F7! So, it looks like I will be purchasing a new touchpad. Thanks so much for all your help appliance guru
