washer was leaking and tub seal was successfully replaced; tub no longer leaks. BUT NOW IT WON'T SPIN! As I re-assembled washer, i started the washer (spin cycle only) with only the outer tub, and the transmission worked.
But after putting the tub basin and filling with water, now it won't spin at all. Agitator works fine, but drains slowly (already replaced drain pump too). When the spin cycle comes on, i hear a screeching noise and some burned rubber smell.
the trasmission does not turn at all. when I manually try to rotate/push the transmission, i hear a grinding noise, but i can't tell where it's rubbing/grinding. Front belt move freely in 1 direction, with some resistance in reverse direction. Back belt (Larger pulley) only moves in 1 direction, and NO movement in reverse direction.
since this machine is over 20 years old. i am reluctant to sink any more $$ into it. Any ideas on what i did wrong? the transmission worked fine before.
