give us a bit more to work with does the display show power failure after? or does it just go back to a normal display ready for a temperature input? does the screen go blank at all when it resets? any error codes?

When I hit bake, then set the temp to 350, the display says ON, starts at 100, after about 5 to 10 seconds, like it tried to hit up and failed, the ON indicator and 100 disappears, just show the time.

thats not a complete model number the ones i looked at show a knob you turn to set the bake temperature and a selector for bake, broil etc is this correct? cause your post sounds like an electronic control is displaying the temperature the complete model number should be on a tag located around the oven liner or liner frame

The complete model number is JKP26GOP1BG, electronic control for the top and knob control on the bottom, just like the one on this top picture on page 6 of this book: http://genet.geappliances.com/DocSearch/pdf/49-8601.PDF There is no error inciation when it did the reset, just like someone hit the Clear button on the control.
