This washer does not spin or tumble in any cycle. I put it in service mode (held the delicate and heavy soil buttons for three seconds) and then tried to run a quick service cycle. The cold and bleach valves energized, then the hot and fabric softener energized. The drum did not tumble. The door locked, but it did not spin. The door unlocked as usual. I tried to run a quick spin test, but the drum turned very slowly (readout was erratic ranging from 33 to 84 up and down). The diagnostic codes in the service mode were 28,17,05,05,10,05 (in that order). What is the best way to procede from here?

Thank you for the bulletin and manual. The serial number for this unit is A2950770CC so I assume I have the updated motor. Do you think they need to be replaced? If so what is the part number?

I tried to run the washer through a quick cycle and it filled, tumbled, and drained, but it never went into the spin cycle. The led displayed the time remaining until it got down to 8 minutes, then it went to zero, but kept washing. When it finally stopped, the water was still in it. Do you think the control board is bad? Is there a way to isolate the problem? I have tried the service mode, but it doesn't respond properly in that mode either.

The ramping up and down as you described in a quick spin test is usually the sign of an open Out of Balance circuit.  On your tech sheet it will tell you how to go into the test cycle for the OOB circuit to test.  It will give you either an open or closed in the display (forget what it states, maybe UC for unbalanced condition).  The OOB circuit consists of 2 or three switches in series.  You could have a wire off, a bad switch, a loose connection, etc.  Heck of a lot cheaper then a board.  Switches can be ohmed or jumped to see which one is the culprit if need be.

Thank you for your post. I checked the switches and found a bad one (of course it was the last one I checked and the hardest to reach). After jumping the switch, the machine operated normally. All I need to do is wait for a new switch, but if the wife gets too impatient, it can be operated with the switch bypassed. Again, thanks a million you saved me a lot of trouble and money.
