if you removed the wires for the door switch, try starting the dryer with the door open

I disconnected the wires that run to the door switch, during repair, everything seems to be plugged in right, anything else that could have been shorted during the install od the rear bearing

did you check if it starts with the door open, i suspect you reversed 2 wires if the wirres are backwards the unit will now run with the door open, rather than closed

the only wires I unhooked was the plug that runs from the door switch to the top back of the dryer, did not unhook the wires on the door switch itself

with door open does the drum light go out if you press the door switch with your finger? if it does try starting dryer while holding the switch in with your finger if it still does not start you need to test the thermal safety, its the round disk on the top right of the heater shroud, easy test is to remove the 2 wires and tape them togeather, then try to start the dryer, if it starts like that you need to replace this part DO NOT use the dryer with the wires joined and the safety bypassed!!!

A wire may have been knocked off somewhere. The Heater Element may have been broken. Some electrical tests may need to be done. ![]()

I found a red/black wire disconnected from behind the top cover on the panel of dials, it appears to be from the farthest right dial, the timer, would I be able to find a pic of how those wires all connect?

I'm probably not describing it right, from the diagram "controllers/top panel", it is number 1 timer-dryer "t"' large dial far right, red and black wire connected together , several pins left open on back of dial, thanks

sorry, I see now that is the right switch, now, is the schematic the only way to tell how the wires connect to it?
