i just noticed i have a call tomorrow for a 2 yr old whirlpool top load complaint is... getting F code, unit starts and stops as with the shop i work at right now, no model# does this F code make sense to anyone for a top load? if so anyone got a generic tech sheet that might match or be close? but with my shop, its prolly a front load made by anyone but whirlpool, nothing surprises me with our office staff anymore DOH! can a moderator move this over to the laundry section, my bad! Most likely this is a Whirlpool Cabrio (agitatorless) top load washer. I'd suggest taking a service manual which has the error message definitions. Now that http://www.servicematters.com requires your left-arm to access information---if your employer paid for access---download a copy...

The unit will have a tech sheet in it - located in a plastic pouch inside the cabinet, you can hinge up the top like the old belt drive whirlpool, spring clips are located about 3" in from each side and are VERY tight so you'll need a good stiff putty knife to release them. Tech sheets are very thorough and include all the failure codes. You don't mention what the codes are (f-1 and f-51 are common) - the control stores the last 4 codes for retrieval during diagnostics Let us know what you find ..... That must be the case - we get that all the time here too, if someone can't show up within an hour of their call for service, they just go buy new units and trash the old(new) ones
