I have the kenmore front loading model number 417.44102300 We just moved from San Diego to Washington and when we hooked it up the new sound is when the barrel starts moving the motor has a grinding noise. (At least I think it's from the motor) When the barrel goes faster then the grinding gets more high pitched. After extensive reading through these very forums I think it quite possibly be a broken fan blade in the motor if there is a fan. if not then it just means the motor needs replaced. There is also a new noise when the barrel is moving. There is some kind of squeaking/chunking noise when the barrel changes changes direction or in it's faster versions or modes. in the front of the machine, there are those support things that aren't in the diagrams. One (the front right) was missing a washer that separates the 2 lock nuts. I put one on and the squeaking lessened but the chunking got worse. The machine also dances when it's in the final phase of the spin cycle but I was hoping that the washer that I put on fixes that problem. It didn't. I was able to make sure the machine is level thinking that may be the problem but that isn't it. At least I don't think it is.

After running it through a cycle with the bottom panel I am wondering if those support things weren't in the diagram because they aren't supposed to be in the machine unless it's being transported. There was a dude that came out before the move to make sure the washer was ready to be moved and installed a bunch of stuff. The movers just might have not removed everything like he should have. Oh one more thing, we also used it as a stackable washer/dryer combo when we lived in San Diego. We no longer can and we may be missing hardware but my wife is pretty good with not losing stuff like that. How do you intstall the cover on the top of the washer.

reg posted the instructions for installation, short answer, yes... those yellow braces get removed, there are also bolts in the rear if your shipper installed these as well for the lid you need 2 brackets on the front of the washer that would have been removed when the dryer was stacked part# 131460900 the 2 brackets for the back of the lid are part#131668200 (these might still be attached to the back of the lid, on some models these reversed to be used as the rear dryer support brackets) *important note*!!!! if you are missing the original screws make sure the screws you use for the front bracket are no longer than 1/2 inch if a screw that is too long is used to attach the front bracket it will damage the parts below it!!!
