I have a GE Quiet Power 3 dishwasher. I tried all the different settings and the heating element doesn't heat up on any cycle (beginning or end). Could this just be a bad heating element? Could there be anything else that I could check just in case I buy a new element and it still doesn't work (so I don't waste any $)? Also, do you know the part # that I would need to replace? Mine doesn't have a parts manual. Thank you Samurai... wax on... wax off...

Could be a few different things causing the unit not to heat and can be checked a few different ways all which require a meter. First thing to check is the element. Disconnect the wires to it and ohm it out.

OK, I am borrowing a multimeter later tonight so I am limited on time. If the element is ok and has continuity what are the other things to check?

Looks like a bad heating element. I ohm it out and didn't get a reading. I then checked the voltage on the two wires that run to the element and am getting 121 volts. Now I just got to find a part number. Thanks for the help.
