I have an older Kenmore 20 (model #363952081) It is a side-by-side and has water and ice dispenser on the freezer door - the ice comes is supposed crushed or solid cubes. a while back the cubes option stopped working, When it is on the setting it makes a crazy grumbling noise and ice comes out crushed, in half pieces with maybe one or two whole pieces. basically just a jumble of ice sizes. any thoughts?

Remove the ice bucket and activate the dispenser (you need to hold the door switch of course). There is a solenoid in the rear that should be activating. My guess is that it is not. #378 in diagram Attachment: image.png (Downloaded 12 times)

Or, your rod # 329 is not inserted into the lifter correctly from someone removing and installing the ice bucket incorrectly.

Thanks. I cannot see the attachment, I think because I am a "grasshopper". It is definitely possible that we jarred something loose when putting in the ice bucket. Where did you find the diagram>?
