So here is the situation. This washer has been making funny agitate sounds (sounds like it goes for a while, stops, little more, stops, but the machine completed the cycle normally) Most recently it has washed for a little bit (10 mins) and stopped completely resulting in having to push start stop 3-4 times to complete a cycle. Today however is a different story. When you push start the machine will fill for 2 seconds if dial is set at beginning of cycle and will drain for 2 seconds if dial is set to spin. But that's all that happens. 2 seconds shuts off. no motor sound. if you spin the drum manually the washer will continue to run as long as the drum is spinning. any thoughts?

While my Neptune was under warranty, It exhibited similar, but not the same, symptoms, and the timer turned out to be the defective part. while a simple change out fixed it, I would not have been able to diagnose it myself.

this is usually caused by a bad motor control board. inspect it for signs of burnt components.
