I recently had the belt to break on my Performa dryer (Model #PDET910AYW) and when I got inside of the unit to replace the belt, I found that it broke due to the idler pulley going bad. I have both replacement parts and I have knowledge on how to replace the belt but the question at hand is this: Is there any way to replace the idler pulley assembly without having to remove the entire blower assembly? I have to get to the 1/4-20 machine screw and nut in order to remove and replace this assembly and any help and/or tips regarding this issue without removing a section of the dryer would be of great help. Thanks for your time in advance.

I wanted to reply to my own question as I have completed and repaired this issue. The original inquiry was posted because I am disabled and cannot really get around very well but since I needed this fixed and I did not get a response right away, I went ahead and attempted this project the "hard" way and took my dryer apart. I was really surprised at the ease and little effort in taking it apart and getting into the area in question. I found out that the original problem was caused by the pulley on the end of the motor and after replacing the pulley, idler pulley and belt, everything worked fine. I do not know how to close this thread out as completed but I felt that stating this information would not only let those monitoring this forum know that this has come to a conclusion but also to let anyone know that on this particular machine, getting into the back of the dryer to where the motor and other componets are located is not as complicated as some of the diagrams, that are out there, may indicate that it might be. I would like to thank those that did at least read my inquiry and even though that I did not get a response, this is a great site with knowledgeable people and I still would refer this to others as well.
