So it crapped out.. gas furnace with a rotted out exchanger.. stinky! Just in time for a cold snap no less.. So, I'd like a few suggestions/opinions on replacement.. I can go gas or electric, would like a heat pump, but cant really afford that now, but something that can be upgraded in the future would be nice.. I dont know the BTU of the existing furnace off the top of my head, but the house it's heating is about 1800 SF.. the old furnace did OK but would like it to poop out a bit more heat.. Mostly curious about brands, as far as reliability, serviceability and efficiency.. the old furnace was a pain to service/clean etc.. I like the way gas heat 'feels' vs electric, but I'm easy and can go either way based on the above criteria.. Thanks in advance!

Maytag is highly recommended by a number of companies I have delt with.
