Helpful people, I have taken the motor / pump assembly off of my Hotpoint HDA3400G00BB in an attempt to diagnose why the water does not drain out during the cycle. Here's what I have diagnosed so far:
If you have problems seeing the video in the post, here's a link: CLICK HERE I have two questions:

Hello, my undrained friend. You would be well-advised to make a visual assessment of the drain check valve. Our turgid host has prepared a page on this especially for you. Come with me and let's have a look together: http://fixitnow.com/wp/2006/07/04/ge-dishwasher-drainology/ Here is the part link for the check valve: http://www.repairclinic.com/PartDetail/Check-Valve/821081?modelNumber=HDA3400G00BB If the outer rim of the plunger gasket appears to be worn off and not large enough in diameter to make a correct seal, then you can be certain that you have found the problem.

Moostafa, While I was waiting for someone to reply, I kept searching for more solutions and I stumbled upon directions that encouraged me to look at the drain check valve (aka "Piston and Nut assembly").. You are spot on with your diagnosis however. The seal had somehow been worn away to almost nothing. Replacing the assembly has fixed the problem. Thank you for your help. Nate Oleson
