To be brief, when this washer starts to drain, sometimes no water comes out of the drain hose. While this is going on, you can push in the timer (turning the washer off) then when you pull the timer back out, it will drain. There are no clogs or restrictions in the drain system. I have taken all of the hoses apart and checked. Any ideas?

Hello, my brief friend. Run the washer with the front panel removed. When the washer starts to drain, see if the motor and the pump are both spinning at the same time. The pump is translucent so when the pump is spinning, it is quite noticeable.

Here's the thing, it's does drain, very slow, so slow no water comes out of the drain hose. When you push the timer in and back out, it spin faster and drains properly. The belt is nice and tight , the pump spins freely.

Remove the DRAIN HOSE from the pump. Examine the Drain Hose for obstruction---such as a *coin* or *large coat button*. A round-shaped piece of debris can cause erratic drain (swivels open & then shut). Inspect the Drain Pump and the Tub-to-Drain-Pump HOSE as well. If no debris is found... Remove the AGITATOR & LAUNDRY BASKET. Inspect the WATER TANK / TUB for an article of clothing that swirls around in the tank during drain & causes irregular draining of water by blocking the hole at the bottom of the water tank. make sure the motor plate has a light coating of fresh grease (not gummed up). when the washer switches from agitate to spin the motor rotates and auto tentions the belt. As the grease ages and gums up the motor wont be able to swivel properly and put the correct tention on the belt.

Looking at the machine from the bottom the belt sound be turning counter clockwise to drain, so if the machine is running in the spin cycle the belt should be going to the left if looking at it from the front under neath. Make sure its going in the proper direction when its not pumping the water out. That's the. Only thing that really makes since if you sure that the pump is turning freely and the hoses and the outlet of the outer tub isn't restricted. If you find this is the case then the timer would have to be bad. If that checks out remove the drain hose from the pump again and insert a screwdriver in the pump outlet to stop the impeller from turning and see if you can turn the pump pulley easily (don't get crazy with it) just trying to see if the impeller may be seperating from the pulley.
