Two days ago I noticed a louder than normal humming when I ran my dishwasher. During that same cycle my dishwasher got stuck at 46 minutes Foooorreeevveerrr. I cancelled and drained, no noise. So I am assuming that the noise is to do with my motor. I ran a couple cycles of vinegar to see if there was buildup and that did nothing. Still stuck every time at 46 minutes. I took the temp of the water and it was 125 degrees (same as what comes straight out of my faucet). So my question is, are the humming and getting stuck at 46 minutes related? What do I need to replace (errr...have my husband learn how to replace). TIA!

So you think they aren't related? I had my husband check the sump and found nothing. How can I know if it is just the heating element? Anyone? Gracias!

Noise assessment can be subjective so, for diagnostic purposes, let's table the noise complaint for now in favor of the quantifiable complaint: cycle stuck at 46 minutes. Like Master Reg said, this can be a bad thermostat or controller. Would need to see your tech sheet schematic to formulate a troubleshooting strategy. You'll find your tech sheet in a pouch behind the kick plates. Scan and post to an online image hosting service or fax to me at 866-315-4504 and I'll post it here.
