Hello- My washer has overflowed twice in the last 2 months. It's only intermittent but it's a huge PITA when it happens. It's hard to test what the problem might be, it does it once and then it works fine for awhile. I think it could be 1 of 3 things: 1. water level sensor 2. inlet valve sticking 3. timer For an intermittent problem like this, would it seem most likely that it's 1 or 2? They are cheap enough to replace, but the timer is about $140. Would it be best just to replace 1 and 2 and see what happens, or do timers go out once in a while too? Thanks.

Intermittents are hard to pindown. But water inlet valves are a common cause for this problem and the least expensive part. I'd start by replacing that. when does it over-flow ? is there level of water already in the Washer when you first start a load ?

It seems to be in the rinse cycle. I'm not usually in the room when it happens, but it seems like when it's filling to rinse it just never shuts off. I can't tell if it had drained properly in the first place though, before it started filling. I've got the inlet valve on order to try first.

Could be that the airdome molded into the side of the tub (where the pressure tube connects) has become clogged with some crud - check and clean as required
