the oven hasn't been lighting, or when it does it isn't getting to the temp needed to cook. The igniter is glowing and there is a smell of gas. It was giving a F1 code a while ago. The stovetop burners work fine. We have been cooking on the grill and stove-top for months! I just tried the oven, which I haven't done months and it did ignite and seemed to be heating up. What to do? Holidays are coming and my wife says I need to fix it!

Need to get a current draw measurement on the ignitor to know for sure, but it sounds like the ignitor may have gone marginal is not passing enough current to fully open the valve. So the ignitor can draw enough current to glow but not enough to open the valve. Other possibility is a bad valve. Not sure about the F1 code but that would be listed on your tech sheet supplied with the range.

May have two things going on. Rare but happens especially when one problem is allowed to go on for a while giving a second problem a chance to occur. for the es100 control your range has F1 is... Control Failure Shorted keypad. Internal checksum may have corrupted control relay shorted or bad probe. Check probe and probe wiring and replace if bad. Power off for 30 seconds. If fault returns replace control
