Hello, My dryer quit working last week, but before it finally stopped, I had to fiddle with the timer and get it in just the right spot before it would start. This makes me think that the problem is in the timer itself. I've read several posts on this forum, though, that say to check the door switch and the thermal fuse. I will do that today after work. If those two components turn out fine, what else could the problem be? I would like to be able to check as much as I can this evening since pulling the dryer out is almost as inconvenient as it not working. Anyway, I appreciate any help and insight you all could provide. Kevin

Well, I opened her up and did a continuity check on the door switch and thermal fuse. Both checked out okay.

hold the Start Switch, then fiddle with the Timer .. also, may just be a loose Connector on the Timer

Yeah, I tried that and checked the connections too. It looks like I'm going to end up having to go buy a new timer. If replacing the timer doesn't work I hope the parts store accepts returns.

At this point, I will either end up ordering the part or picking one up locally. Before I do, is there anything else I should check that might be the culprit?

If I order from RepairClinic, it should be here tomorrow since I'm stuck in Ohio and they're in Michigan, less than 8 hours away. I guess it all boils down to whether I want to work on it tonight or tomorrow night.

Resolution: I ordered the timer from RepairClinic yesterday and it came in today. I replaced the timer on the dryer and it's now running like a champ! Thanks to the link to RepairClinic.com! The part ended up costing less than the locally available one even after shipping. And thanks for the Fixitnow.com site. I'm not sure how successfully I would have been troubleshooting and opening up my appliance without it. I will definitely use it again if I have anymore appliance breakdowns.
