maytag mav4758aww The machine is level and have worked on it for the last few years. After some painters moved it recently it really shakes, even shakes with no load in it. took it apart checked springs, all is good. Don't think i saw any shavings but from what i've read it sounds like it could be a snubber ring. The machine is probably around 5 years old. Does this sound like it could be the problem? Do these rings get split or compromised without showing shavings? Are springs likely to lose tension? Last edited on Thu Oct 28th, 2010 06:25 am by Nicky |

Spray a light coating of WD-40 at the bottom of the snubber ring / washer base (do not use petroleum-based lubricants).

Thanks, hopefully it works. Another use of wd-40 for me. If this doesn't happen to work is the ring inspectible while in place?

Somewhat. You may see white powdery residue. Try the WD-40 and post your results...
