whirlpool cabrio sucks Grasshopper

My Cabrio washer has a loud bearing growl on the spin cycle. No it's not the family dog in there, OK? It is related to drum speed and am 99% sure is coming from the drum shaft & bearings. Whirlpool provides the entire drum/shaft assembly to get the bearings at major cost. Does anyone know if the industry standard bearings can be replaced? The lower bearing is a 6005 sealed unit and the upper is most likely the same. About $27.00 each versus close to $200 for the drum. I've spent enough already on repairs in the 30 months I've owned it.

Sorry to hear it. Many people have been throwing away there old reliable Whirlpool/ Kenmore top loader Direct Drives....Sad. I wish I could put up a hundred in a warehouse to sell years from now, when we are all regulated to something complicated, expensive, and impraticale.
