The washer was making very loud noise and vibrating in the spin mode. I put in new v-ring and after re assemblage the problem and noise still existed. So I once again start trouble shooting, with the door open, back panel off, pulley and belt off, I start moving the main drum from the front, up and down with my right hand, I was just barely able to see the rear of the outer tub/container compartment, part # 8801165, where the shaft comes through and I spotted movement with the outer bearing container area , the area where the race of the outer/rear bearing sits. The entire circumference of that area of the outer tub, has broke every so slightly. My question is, can I weld that with a tig welder, or should I just scrap the thing, the outer tub assembly is about 350.00 and the unit is 9years old. Thanks Abpilot1

At that cost for the replacement part, you have nothing to lose by attempting the home welding job.
