Defrost heater works. Not certain if the fan is working, I assume it is as the fridge compartment would not cool without it. been about 2 weeks since I replaced the conductor. Frost/ice is just now stating to build up on back panel of freezer. currant temp in freezer is 14 degrees. Isn't there a timer/ senser that turns the heater defrost unit on?

Bratton, you had two topics for the same problem. Please keep it all in one topic (this one). Topics merged.

OK Guru's. I have AGAIN pulled the freezer door off and back panel. Defrosted, Will take a pic in an hour as instructed and post. My ????? is do I have to install the rear freezer panel ans fan? I'm just going to have to remove it all again in an hour to take a pic. I just put the freezer door back on.

I believe this is a continuation of an older post. Didn't you originally replace the heater on someone elses recommendation without testing it and then when the thermal fuse was suggested you then replaced that? Had the old heater or fuse been tested before replacement? well I just realized this post had another page

I am taking pics now@ 1 hour intervals. Just a slight frost buildup after 2 hrs. Don't know how often the defroster is supposed to come on.

Hope this helps. The pic with the most frost was taken after the evaporater was running for 3 hrs.
