GLORIOUS CELEBRATION!!!!!
After tracking said part to parts of West Virginia, (patience grasshoppa)and resigning myself to wait til the 27th as projected(patience), at 10:25 the mail-lady rang doorbell and brought the wrath of 25lb fur-ball that is sooo cute and eats things.(more on her later). By 10:35 had convinced wife to help unload freezer(remember I have broke neck from car wreck). Box is open, inspected,(packing list and even return labels,...yea!!) Ok, cover off,fan unplugged, remove bracket from fan shroud,(note: rubber grommet on front hub and rear hub keep fan quiet. placed rear grommet on new motor on the floor)Took bracket to the sink to warm fan to try to remove, sucessful! Ok, new motor to bracket re-assemble time. Where is rear grommet? Chase dog while dog is making chewing motions, to outside and trade dog PORK RIND for GROMMET. Assemble fan to fan shroud noting position in fan shroud to be 1/2 blade up and 1/2 blade down in hole.(there are marks on shroud from where it was hung...little circle and square spot...so you should know which side is up)Stamped in the shroud(big letters) is FRONT. (How to place shroud in freezer slot)After plugging fan in and cutting knuckle on evaporator coil fins trying to make shroud fit, find the female plug-in on fan must face away from FRONT stamp on shroud. Unplug fan, remove two screws, rotate 180 and re-screw. Plug in fan and whole assembly fits nicely! NOTE: NEW FAN WILL BITE YOU!(sounds like a tiny turbojet)Old fan I could stop with my finger easily...and very quiet..symptom?????
Buttoned all up and temp at the fridge OUTLET went to 28 immediately....goody,goody. Am gonna let it run for a few days before I place all the food back in, though
