Greetings samurais...

Yesterday I replaced the end plug on the above-listed dehumidifier. One of the original plug tongs and the plastic plug casing (not the ground) showed signs of heat damage. After plugging in the unit, it ran for several hours. This morning, the machine had stopped; the tub being only about one-third full. I unplugged the unit and upon returning home from work plugged it in again. Nothing at all. Not even a display...
There was no apparent damage to the new plug.
I'm hoping it is not serious, but it doesn't look good.

Any advice/suggestions?

EDIT:

I checked the manual and have started to service the unit. I noticed that the capacitor connectors have some some discoloration on the inside of the terminal covers. One of the brown wires leading to the terminals has hardened (and cracked) insulation.

What is the experience of any Techs out there who receive a model for servicing that displays such ailments? Is it confined to an individual part? Several parts? Control Panel (which does not light up)? PCB Assembly?

The problem, indeed, appears to be electrical.

I appreciate any suggestions offered and am always grateful for the help offered at AG.

I think I'll go get a fresh cup of brewed :java:

and try to figure out this conundrum...
