That's a LOT of laundry for a 3.1 cu. ft drum (22 to 26 loads per week?).
If you have a WOOD FLOOR laundry room--Samsung front load washers offer very smooth spin cycle performance (no shakes / vibration etc).
On CONCRETE FLOORS--- LG front loaders are another good choice.
Both brands offer tub / drum sizes *much* larger than 3.1 cu ft.
Larger tubs get more laundry done---faster.
If service in your area is a concern---checking the websites for service availability can done (zip code search).
Use only "HE" type detergent.
Three concentrations are commonly sold (regardless of brand):
HE : (2) Tablespoons Per Load/Wash
HE 2X : (1) Tablespoon
HE 3X : (1) Teaspoon
Using the *correct* amount of "HE" detergent will prevent / reduce:
1. Musty Odor
2. Cycle Run Time Taking Longer Than Time Displayed
3. Suds Error / Interrupted Cycle
4. Poor Wash Results (especially whites)
5. Intermittent Water Leaks
In addition:
You'll save on detergent.
Your family washes a *minimum* of 22 loads per week (1144 loads/year).
Using HE 2X detergent in the 177 fluid ounce jug (one of the most popular & commonly available) you'll likely need to purchase between 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 bottles per year rather than one-jug-per-month.
