Frigidaire SxS - New ADC wont start unit FRS26RC3JS1 Evaporator coils iced up. Manually defrosted them. The old ADC runs the unit (fans/compressor) and I can manually put it into defrost mode, but heater will not come on. I installed a new ADC but this will not start the unit. Ive replaced the limit and tested the heating element which is good. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Sounds like you have a bumb New ADC as long as you had the cold control turned on....in run mode if you have power coming in and none going out of the board then it's bad. Cant view your schematic at the moment to tell you which wires to check.

There is no delay with the old ADC plugs in and starts instantly. I would think the.new ADC is the same design?

Don't think this pertains to you but there are 2 different ADC's that look the same and mount the same (in white cases) guess it could be possible that you could have gotten an old stock or parts supplier thought they were giving you the correct part ADC Service Flash

I would venture you are right. I ordered another ADC and they had no stock. Pretty sure they sent me the wrong one. Many thanks.

Got the new ADC finally. It came with the ADC and the wiring harness. (last one just came with the ADC). Dont know how they decide when to include a new harness. Wired it up and and started instantly. Thanks for your replies and advice. I learn something from this site evey day. Thank you.
