Just bought a house, had this dryer in it that makes noise. Is it worth fixing? If so, does anyone have an idea of what is making the terrible noise? I was thinking idler pulley? Listen/watch here: http://remitrom.com/Dryer.html

Model number is - not viewable. I know, that's like rule number 1-10. It appears to have all the stickers removed from the unit in the door area (in its place are some pretty nice glitter heart stickers?), and none of the stickers on the back have model numbers. Belt looks normal. Thanks.

Can't listen to your clip right now, but the common noise makers on this unit are the rolles and the blower wheel. The top pops up by t 2 clips in the front and the front is held on with 2 screws. Then you can remove the tub to inspect the rollers, check the blower wheel for play on the motor shaft.

Look for something caught in the blower.

Thanks for all the replies. I've taken the machine apart. I cleaned the big plastic piece that connects to the blower - ton of lint in it. But when i manually spun the drum, i still felt and heard some clicking. I took the drum out. I noticed the pulley seemed really loose and had a lot of play. I don't know if this is normal as I've never seen inside one of these units before. So, I created another video, here: http://remitrom.com/Idler.html Also, now that the drum is out, I can't really recreate the noise. However, the blower spins quite smoothly. The belt looks fine, no frays or anything. Rollers in back appear to be rolling with ease and straight. There's a ton of black fine dust, is that normal - from the motor? Thanks again everyone.

I cannot get your video link to work, but the idler puller should have alot of play, nor produce the black dust. Not having your model # you need to inspect your pulley to ensure this one is correct. This pulley is from a Maytag Performa Dryer. The Grid squares represent 1 inch. Click on the link and you can see the back view. Idler Pulley Link ![]()

POP the top and see if that drum is shaking. That's what it sounds like to me.

Thanks everyone. The pulley is the problem i think. I took the circle pin thing off and remove the wheel. It looks like it was digging into the axle which caused the fine black dust. And also, made the pulley very lose. I'm posting images this time, not a video: http://www.remitrom.com/pulley.html Looks like the pulley is 2 3/16" in diameter. I want to replace the wheel and the axle, or the entire assembly. I don't know what is easiest/best. But I still can't find a model number. Does anyone have an idea of what parts i need from these photos? Sorry for the inconvenience of the missing number, I would have the number if this unit was always owned by me. Thanks again!
