I have a sears side by side refrig (model 106.5182200) with water and ice on the door. The clear plastic ice guide slips down keeping the flap to stay open. I guess you have to remove the dispendes front cover but do not see any screws. How do you get the face cover off?Is it just something broken on the ice guide or something more.

More than likely it's more than the ice guide that broken. look under neath the bottom edge of the dispenser front and you will see 2 slots, one on each end. Insert a flat head screwdriver into the slot and twist. It will feel like your going to break it but you wont (not saying that it can't Also double check that model#

Well I did get the thedispenser cover off, no problem removed the 4 screws to remove the housing but it appears to be glued on. I used a sharpened putty knife to go around the seal however it is still attached. Now I can see the the guts and the clear ice guide appears to be the problem. It looks like there are suppose to be 3 tabs, with 2 on the top and 1 on the bottom. I have only 1 on the top andd 1 on the bottom. To replace the chute can I do this without pulling the rest of the unit out? If not HELP.

Yes, no need to tear down any further, just remove the old ice guide and snap in the new one (carefully), those tabs break pretty easy.
