I need a Defrost Thermostat Part #1206535 for my Magic Chef MCBR1000W Refrigerator. All the sites I check show its nit available anymore. Can anyone possibly help me?

you can't get the exact replacement but you can get an equivalent. look on the side of your defrost T stat and there should be a temp. engraved in the plastic..should be about 47 .

and have you checked the temperature fuse as well?

Yeah. I put continuity accross the fuse. Its good. I got the thermo down to 12 degree. and also tested for continuity. No beep from the meter.

Just my luck, the wording is on the face of the thermo where it touches the coil pipe. It got rubbed off. Any sugestions? Just shoot me.

If you bypass the thermostat it will blow your fuse...give me a little bit and I'll find ya a thermostat.

By the way, its a 1" x 1" cylinder with a metal clip on it to hold it onto the coil pipe.
