Kenmore Elite washer model # 110 26924502 various cycle problems: It starts agitating at start of wash cycle while filling with water. If I lift the lid, stops agitating and continues filling with water till desired level reached. I close the lid and wash cycle agitation continues. At end of wash cycle it starts agitating very fast - I push the control knob in to stop the machine, then pull it out again and it starts draining normally. When rinse cycle starts letting water in in also starts agitating - I lift up the lid to stop the agitation and then close it to when it stops letting water in and it starts agitating. It suddenly starts agitating very fast again and when I stop it and start it again it starts draining as it should When the spin cycle starts, it lets water in continuously all the time it is spinning - I have to turn the faucet off for my laundry to be properly spun. Before any of the above problems began everything was working as it should. A few days ago I was in a hurry for the laundry to finish and I manually moved the cycle knob forward a bit during the wash cycle without pushing it in to stop the machine first and that is when all my problems began. I guess I messed something up and would like to know if there is something I can replace to have it working again as it should. Hope you can help me...

That's what I suspected - the link you gave just takes me to an image. I need instructions on how to open up the washer to replace the timer so that I can see what the old timer looks like in order to order a new one. Thanks for the help so far.

Sorry, you were correct, there was something wrong with that link. I posted the repair clinic part # in my previous post. My apologies. To get into the control panel.... Insert a putty knife straight in under the front of each end cap (one at a time) you should feel the clip spring back..holding the clip back pull the end cap forward and up. Repeat on the other side and roll the control panel back. to remove timer knob..... on the back of the timer in the center you will see the back side of the white timer shaft. it has a little hole in the end of it. insert a small screw driver into the hole so when you pull on the knob the shaft will not move....pull knob off. remove the small 3/16" screw that was under the knob. roll the control panel back again...there is a little catch on the timer by the wire connectors that you release and slide the time to the side and it will come out....disconnect wires and replace timer.

once you get the screw driver in there you will have to pull the knob pretty hard.

Eventually got the knob off on Saturday - found it easier to pull it off by pulling on the timer after disconnecting all the wires etc holding the timer in - had to pull really, really hard but I did it!! New timer arrived today and it was really easy putting it in and putting everything back together again - thanks to great instructions you supplied. Then came the test - did a small load of laundry and everything worked normally, as it should> Yay!!!!! It's fixed and I can't thank you enough - saved us a lot of money, I'm sure. Thank you for the excellent help - going to make that "brew" donation now - I'm so happy
