Model Number: GLTF2940ES2 Brand: Frigidaire Age: 5 - 10 years I started a load and left the house. i returned home to find water in the bottom of the drum and most of the clothes only partially wet. I held the start and cancel button down together and received E59. After researching this it states that it could be the motor, the tub bearings, or the speed control board. I have also found some people who have changed out the door lock assembly and it has worked fine. well going through tests, i removed the belt and the motor pulley does spin. the tub pulley does not spin and seems to be locked in place. how do I check the tub bearings? do I still need to go through the rest of the test and check the pin ohms?

Sounds like the drum bearings are shot. Was it making unusually loud noises before it went into cardiac arrest?

No it was working fine for the first load then it quit. I was able to last night, to forcefully turn from the back but it took some muscle to get it to turn. It seems like it turns fine for about 3/4 of a rotation then it gets stuck and takes force to turn it. It has its normal front to back movement and doesn't seem off balance. As I was dinking around with it I was also getting different error codes such as E00 and E41

Check the rear of the outer tub (where the shaft comes through to connect to pulley) for signs of brown goo which would indicate bearing/seal failure. If clean, you may have an item caught between the tubs - when you say it turns ok for 3/4 of a turn and then gets tight try turning it back the other way - if something is in there it can be fun to fish it out - probably best to go through the hole where the water discharges to pump and fish around with a coat hanger or the like

there is no goo or any signs of rust or anything that looks out of the ordinary. it doesn't feel like anything has oozed out either and is pretty clean for moving parts.

what type of things can get in there to get stuck? And the hole you're talking, does the drain pump have to be taken off to do this?

Try turning the large pulley wit the belt disconnected as you may be able to "feel" the spot where the item might be - the bottom of the tub has a manifold hose connected to it and the pump, you can remove this hose from the tub. Possible items are a sock, or a pair of scanties which will tend to roll up in the small space between the tubs as the inner basket turns
