Darryl Lurking at the Threshold   Joined:  Location:    Posts:  Flavorite Brew:  Status:  Offline	I am trying to repair my Amana washing machine Model LWA50AW, S/N R 9707020848.   I have the washer completely disassembled and am down to the outer tub with just the transmission attached. I am stuck! How do I get to the seal or get the remaining parts seperated? Of course I would also need to know how to reassemble the two parts also.   Thanks!

What I am looking at is a rubber seal that the inner tub sets onto. Is the nut hidden in the folds of the rubber or do I pull this seal off with a puller? It seems to be pressed on. I would hate to have come this far only to end with failure! I also understand that this really is not an economical repair but time is free and I really can't afford a new washer AND DRYER right now. I can't stand the thought of having a mis-matched set because I am spoiled!  My local repair guy won't touch it (not economical) and he also said the transmission will go in about 3-6 months from water intrusion and I will not be happy. The leak just showed it's ugly self and really only dribbled quickly. Is this washer really doomed?????

Yes Ron you mentioned a tool for the locknut but I cannot even see the locknut yet. How do I remove the drive bell seal. And what special tools do I need to complete the job. I have not been able to come up with any diagrams either. If I leave it apart too long I'm afraid I won't remember how to reassemble.

Kids washed TV controller which came out of the washer in 4 pieces, less batteries. I need to look under the agitator as there has been no sign of them (whole or pieces). Can you help?

I have a nine year old model LW8203W2 Amana washer and am at the same stage. I have been able to remove the inner tub, the agitator, the drive bell and seal - I even managed to get the locknut off with a pair of vice grips and a few taps with a hammer. What is the easiest way to remove the spline? Is the spline the last thing I need to remove before the hub? What is the easiest way to get that out? Break it with a hammer and chisel? I found the 495P3 hub and seal kit online at http://www.partsking.com for $33.07. Any problems buying from them?   Thanks, Chuck
