The diagram shows an "optional" dispenser lock switch - does your dispenser have this feature ? Secondly, does the light in the dispenser cavity work ?

These refrigerators have the wiring harness for the dispenser going through the lower hinge of the freezer door. The problem they had is they made the wiring too short and too thin, causing the wiring to break. Here is what you need to do: Remove the grille on the bottom of the refrigerator. You will notice a black mesh style sheath over the wiring harness going through the lower hinge of the freezer door. Very carefully, pull the sheath off, if you find any of the wires broken you need to replace this: http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=t-2187667-%3d%3di959883&PartID=959883 Last edited on Sun Jun 27th, 2010 08:00 am by Scottthewolf ____________________ Scott Wolf |

yes, light works and it has lockout (see earlier thread). Before I pull off the mesh, quick question: When I disconnect that wiring bundle at the bottom of the door, I get 120v to ground on the Blue/black wire (coming from the back of the frig, but 0 on everything else. Is the purple wire power to the water valve/switch? If so, shouldn't I get 120v to ground on that wire also?

Yes, but only if the power is getting through all of the switches in the dispenser (door switches closed, dispenser pressed etc) that bu/bk wire runs to the dispenser lockout switch - do you also get voltage where the wire connects to the switch, and if so, at the other side of that switch (gray)?

from previous Q&A's, there's power at the Dispenser Switches, but doesn't get to the Water Valve.

Maybe try a resistance check on the purple wire from the water lever switch to the bottom of the door
