That harness dangling there, the thermisters that are supposed to plug into the harness coming off of J1. At some point during this mess, this intermediate harness got unplugged. I noticed that there were several harnesses not plugged into anything, and I also noticed that out of all of them, these two were the only ones that would actually hook up together. I just did a quick search and found this picture showing that 5-pin intermediate harness plugged in to each other: http://img62.imageshack.us/img62/6324/img5228w.jpg It's the one on the far right. I wondered why when I replaced the mother board that the J1 connector was loose and not plugged in to anything else, but I saw the jumper wires on pins 6-9 and figured it was just a jumper harness. As I'm typing this, the comp is spinning away, and it's been more than 5 minutes. So, thank you everyone for your time and attention. Hopefully the fridge and freezer are nice and cold by morning and my garage fridge can go back to it's real job...beer fridge.

 Thermistor harness wins!! Don't feel so bad. We all have done far worse than that. I once got a service call for a warm box. After an hour of head scratching, I realized that the GFI had tripped.
